The pre-charge time for a MultiPlus-II 48/5000 using the Victron Pre-charge Cable is less than a second. Larger systems will take longer to pre-charge. The largest system targeted with the Pre-charge Cable is a 3-unit system with MultiPlus (-II) or Quattro (-II). For larger systems, several Pre-charge Cables can be used in parallel, or individual units can be pre-charged and connected to the battery one at a time.
The Controlled Power-Up prevents sudden inrush currents by pre-charging capacitors before full connection.
